Nottingham Panthers finished runners-up in the four-team Napoleon Cup in France after winning two out of their three games.

Panthers won 3-0 against German side Kassel Huskies and followed up with a 5-3 victory against the hosts, Amiens.

UQTR proved too strong in the final game, with the Canadian outfit claiming the cup courtesy of a 7-3 success.

Braehead Clan and Belfast Giants split their pre-season weekend double-header with a road win apiece.

Jay Rosehill (2) topped the scoring for Clan as they secured a 4-2 victory in Belfast, but the Giants bounced back in the reverse fixture with a 5-3 win – David Rutherford (2), Michael Forney (2) and Blair Riley got the goals.

Fife Flyers enjoyed the perfect preparation for the upcoming Elite League season, recording 5-0 and 6-1 wins at home to German team EC Peiting.

Cardiff Devils beat Netherlands team Tilburg Trappers 5-0 and followed up with a 3-2 victory at Coventry Blaze – Andrew Lord grabbed the winner with 11 seconds to play.

Bjorn Bombis (2) and Shawn Boutin got the goals for Blaze in their 3-2 win at home to the Trappers.
