Belfast Giants closed the gap on Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils to three points after picking up a pair of wins against Coventry Blaze.
Kris Beech (2), Mike Radja (2), Chris Higgins and Craig Peacock got the goals in a 6-3 victory on home ice, and Giants followed up with a 5-2 success in the reverse fixture – Derrick Walser (2) topped the scoring.
Cardiff endured a miserable weekend, losing 3-2 after a shoot-out at home to Dundee Stars and 3-1 at Braehead Clan.
Sheffield Steelers won 5-2 on home ice against Manchester Storm, but they failed to follow up at Edinburgh Capitals – Ned Lukacevic hit the decider for the home team as they grabbed a 4-3 shoot-out victory.
Two goals each for Juraj Kolnik and Brad Moran helped Nottingham Panthers to an 8-2 win at home to Edinburgh.
Fife Flyers enjoyed a four-point weekend, winning 5-2 on home ice against Braehead and 4-3 after a shoot-out at Dundee (check out Stars’ boss Marc LeFebvre’s views on the weekend in the video above).
