Belfast Giants are still top of the Elite League despite a mixed weekend of results.

Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Panthers started well for Belfast as they took a 3-2 lead after the first two periods, but goals by Ollie Betteridge and Evan Mosey midway through the final session sealed a 4-3 win for the home team.

Giants bounced back on Sunday at Manchester Storm with a 2-1 shoot-out victory – Mike Radja grabbed the decider.

Robert Dowd scored twice for Sheffield Steelers in their 4-2 win at home to Dundee Stars but they found things tougher on the road, falling 7-5 at Edinburgh Capitals.

Cardiff Devils secured their 11th home win in row with a 5-2 success against Manchester – Andrew Lord (2) led their scoring. The Welsh outfit followed up with a 6-4 win at Coventry Blaze in the Elite Challenge Cup.

Fife Flyers made it three wins on the spin on home ice with a comfortable 8-3 success against Edinburgh, but their struggles away from home continued as they slipped to a 6-3 loss at Dundee.
