Elite League Transfers: Signing Season Stars in June

At last, it’s time for Elite League general managers to put pen to paper with next season’s signings. Following the Cardiff Devils playoff threepeat and the Belfast Giant’s league and cup double, teams across the top-flight enter the offseason hoping to climb up the standings next term.

There’s already been a handful of high-profile departures. Marc-Olivier Vallerand’s decision to swap life with the Sheffield Steelers for a move to ICEHL’s Olimpija Ljubljana raised eyebrows, with former Coventry Blaze netminder C.J. Motte securing a well-earned transfer to the AHL’s Iowa Wild.

However, plenty of exciting arrivals have also been announced. Ben Bowns and Joey Martin will return to the Devils next season, ending their escapades on the continent.

Also of note: Luke Ferrara’s switch from the Coventry Blaze to the Nottingham Panthers. He joins a club at the very start of a rebuild under newly installed CEO Omar Pacha and will play a key role in their rebound.

We’re only at the very start of the offseason and it’s already looking like a very spicy summer for Elite League transfers.
