Fife Flyers have signed experienced Canadian forward Peter LeBlanc for the 2017/18 Elite League season.

The 29-year-old arrives in Fife with a hugely impressive CV having played in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, Swedish Allsvenskan and Finish Liiga.

He has played over 250 games in the AHL and was called up for game in the NHL by Washington Capitals during the 2013/14 season.

LeBlanc said: “I’m very excited to be playing for Fife in the upcoming season.

“I’ve never been to Scotland before, but everything I have heard about the country from people who have travelled or lived there seem to love it.

“Hockey wise I’m looking to come in and provide offence both creating and finishing plays in order to do my part being on a winning team.”

Assistant coach Jeff Hutchins added: “We are delighted to be able to sign player of Peter’s calibre for the coming season.

“He ticks a lot of boxes for us as a coaching staff – he can play at all three forward positions, he has played in some of the best leagues in the world and excelled.

“We feel his experience and skill set will provide us with offence while being positionally reliable in our own end.

“Our conversations throughout the process have been excellent and we think he understands what we are trying to achieve as an organisation.

“We look forward to getting him on the ice in August.”
