Nottingham Panthers’ boss Corey Neilson says he sees returning forward Robert Farmer as a big part of the club’s future.

The 26-year-old has signed a multi-year contract to continue his stay at the team he first signed for in November 2013.

“Robert Farmer is an interesting character and has a unique element to his game – he does a bit of everything and has grown in every single season with the Panthers,” said Neilson.

“He brings a lot of things to the team. He’s big, he’s tough, he fights, he’s a nuisance, but he’s a competitor and wants to win every single game.

“We’ve had conversations with Robert for a while and he wants to know the club is committed to excellence, which it is and it was pretty simple.

“We’re going to bring a team back that’s eager, engaged and hungry to win. He’s also a player we’ve earmarked as being part of our future.

“Robert’s played in every situation for our team and we’re looking for him to move into a more skilled role and he’s looking forward to that.

“He has a well-rounded game and I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Panthers jersey in the future.”
