Guildford Flames defenceman Calle Ackered has been named EIHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 26th 2017.
Ackered registered two assists during Guildford’s 5-0 win away at Dundee on Saturday night, the Surrey clubs second victory on Tayside this season.
The 26-year-old then picked up a goal and four assists in Sunday’s 7-3 victory against Milton Keynes at The Spectrum, helping set-up Ben Davies for the Flames opener as well as gaining an assist on what proved to be the game winning goal early in the second period when Kruise Reddick converted on the power play.
As a result of the two victories, Guildford moved up to 7th in the Elite League table with an 8-5-3 record to begin their first season in the UK’s top flight.
Ackered, who joined the Flames from Swedish Division 1 side Östersunds IK during the summer, currently leads all defenceman in the Elite League in both goals (10) and points (29).
