Guildford Flames have signed Canadian forward Rhett Rachinski.
The 25-year-old heads to the Elite League after five seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears where he was on hand for back-to-back National Championships in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015.
Rachinski said: “I’m definitely excited to join the Flames for the coming season.
“We are going to have a number of guys who are familiar with each other and hopefully that will give us a bit of a head start on coming together as a group.”
Flames’ boss Paul Dixon added: “Rhett is a hard-nosed forward who will not take a shift off.
“He is a good skater, and not only can play centre or wing, but can also play up and down the line-up to suit different situations.
“He comes from a very successful programme that tends to breed highly competitive players who look out for team objectives.
“We are looking forward to his presence in our line-up both on and off the ice.”
