Gareth O’Flaherty extends stay with Peterborough

Peterborough Phantoms, British Ice Hockey

Peterborough Phantoms have announced that Gareth O’Flaherty has agreed to stay with the club until the end of the current season.

O’Flaherty, 29, joined the Phantoms at the start of November on a short-term contract to help cover injuries within the squad and add depth in the central positions, but has agreed an extended contract until the end of the season.

The British Centreman began the season with the Bracknell Bees, and has played eight times for the Phantoms so far, scoring once and assisting four more.

“I’m extremely happy to be joining the Phantoms for the remainder of the season,” he said.

“The past four weeks have been a lot of fun and the boys have been really welcoming. It’s been good to learn the systems and contribute during some big games.

“I’m looking forward to continuing helping the team and hopefully winning some silverware.”
