Great Britain U20 defender Tyler Plews has agreed a third season with Edinburgh Capitals.

The 19-year-old has already made over 100 appearances for the club and says he’s looking forward to continuing his progress next season.

“It was an easy choice to return with the announcement of Dmitri Khristich as Head Coach – being coached by a person of his calibre will only bring out the best of me as a player,” said Plews.

“Looking at next season, there’s only been a few signings before me but so far it’s looking good. Having Pav (Vorobyev) back is a huge boost and I’m looking forward to seeing who else comes.

“This season I only hope to improve again. I’m looking forward to this new style of coaching and hopefully better myself on the ice and be a part of a squad competing for silverware.

“I’m really happy to be back in Edinburgh for a third season and I can’t wait to get started and for the season get underway.”

Khristich added: “I’m looking forward to working with Scottish youngsters like Tyler Plews. I want to work with players who know they have to work hard to play on a regular basis in this league.

“Tyler has good size and combined with the right attitude he can progress and do just that.”
