Great Britain U20 will face EPL side Milton Keynes Lightning as part of their build-up for the upcoming World Championship tournament.

The two sides will go head-to-head at the Milton Keynes Arena on Wednesday, 2nd December (7:30pm).

After promotion last season, GB are playing in the IIHF World Championship (Division 1B) in Megeve this year. As well as facing hosts France, GB will come up against Japan, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine from 12th to 18th December 2015.

GB U20s Head Coach, Tom Watkins (above), said: “This is another ideal game to get us prepared for the World Championship next month.

“Nottingham Lions gave us a good test earlier this month and this will be another step up in standard. I would like to thank Pete and the MK organisation to agreeing to play us and help us prepare in the best possible way.”

Lightning Head Coach, Pete Russell, who is also coach of GB Men, said: “It’s great to be part of the GB20 national team preparation. When Tommy Watkins asked me, it was a no-brainer to accept.

“The game will be a fantastic chance for our great supporters to see for themselves the best young talent in the UK and to give them a great send off to the World Championships.”
