Great Britain Women claimed the bronze medal at the World Championship (Division 2A) in Gangneung with a 5-3 victory over Australia.

It was a second-successive third place for GB after last year’s bronze medal in Bled and condemned Australia to relegation.

Angela Taylor (2), Ali Emery, Katie Marsden and Katie Henry got the goals for GB.

Head Coach Cheryl Smith said: “We are content right now and happy with the bronze, but we know it could’ve been better.

“We came for gold and are disappointed we did not get it, but credit to the team for battling back.

“They could’ve crumbled by they regrouped and battled back and worked hard to claim the bronze.”

Korea won gold with victory over Netherlands who had to settle for silver.
