Great Britain U18 picked up their first win of their World Championship (Division 2A) campaign as they beat previously-unbeaten Lithuania 3-1 in Gangneung.

Caly Robertson scored twice in the second period to put GB 2-0 ahead, but Egidijus Binkulis halved the deficit early in the final session. Tyler Cooper’s late empty-netter sealed the victory.

Head Coach Martin Grubb said: “I thought we were excellent today and stuck to the system for sixty minutes.

“We were stronger than them in key areas and our penalty kill was fantastic and it is a great reward for the players’ hard work.

“We needed to show our true character and ensure we outworked them and I thought we limited the chances they had.

“Our five-minute penalty kill was huge for us and swung the momentum back in our favour – and it was nice for the boys to get the reward they deserved.

“We now need to kick on and play as we did today and finish this tournament strong.”
