Solway Sharks’ boss Martin Grubb is still looking to add to his roster as the NIHL North season draws ever nearer.

After adding Elite and EPL experience in the shape of ‘D’ man James Hutchinson, arguably the highest profile Moralee D1 signing of the summer, Grubb is looking for another couple of players to put the Sharks back in contention for silverware.

“I was obviously delighted to sign James – he is a hugely experienced player and has played at a higher standard than NIHL for the past decade or more,” said Grubb.

“The signing I think made the other teams in the NIHL take notice. We are very close to adding a final couple of experienced players while we will also have our U20 players from the junior club to play up as part of their development.

“We’ve been two seasons without a trophy and for our club that’s too long – we need to be competing for honours on every front and I’m confident we will be back in the mix this season.”

Grubb’s last two senior signings are expected to be goalie to support Kieran Hobbins and a second non-EIHA trained player alongside Juraj Senko.

“I’m working on a couple of players at the moment, and trying to get the signings over the line,” added Grubb.

“Our league gets better and better – this season is no exception. Every team seems to have recruited strongly and whoever ends up on top come March will have deserved it for sure.”
