Hopkins agrees Stars move

Oxford City Stars have snapped up experienced ‘D’ man Dominic Hopkins for the upcoming NIHL1 South season.

The 35-year-old, who spent the previous four seasons with Streatham, brings a wealth of experience to the Stars’ roster having played over 600 games during his senior career.

Stars’ boss Simon Anderson said: “I’m obviously delighted to have attracted someone of Dom’s experience to Oxpens Road – he will bring a massive amount of experience and know-how to our young team.

“It was important for me to try and bring the very best players available to Oxford and I believe I’ve brought a top player here.

“Every time I coached against a team with Dom in it, I used to wish he would be on my side and it’s finally happened.

“We are looking to become the very best we can season after season and this signing confirms this.”

Stars have also signed netminder Mark Duffy from Bracknell Hornets, while defenseman Jake Florey has agreed another season.

Streatham have confirmed blueliner Casimir Madren-Britton, plus forwards Steven Fisher and Callum Best, all return for a further year.

Bailey Wootton, Conor Redmond and Jarvis Mewett have all agreed another campaign with Invicta Dynamos.

Wightlink Raiders have confirmed two returnees, with Jaroslav Cesky and Nick Compton back on the island once again.

London Raiders have signed forward JJ Pitchley from the Hornets.

In D2S, Lee Valley Lions forward Nick Alley has agreed a fourth season with the club.
