It was a massive and dramatic in the Elite League when Cardiff Devils’ surprising slip up in losing to Coventry Blaze handed the title to Belfast Giants on a night when they weren’t even playing.
With their campaign finished on Saturday, all they could do was wait and hope. Ultimately it paid off as the players, management and fans of the club were getting together for their End of Season awards, which turned into a title party.
But let’s see how the world reacted to the news from Sunday night:
CHAMPIONS🏆

It all ends in Coventry and we finish just short. Equal on points but it’s not enough.

Crushing end to the regular season. When emotions calm down, I’ll be in a better spot to appreciate all that this team and especially @AndrewLord17 had to go through this year in what was easily our most challenging year. For now, congrats to @BelfastGiants on a huge season.
