Edinburgh Capitals have added Russian ‘D’ man Konstantin Teslyukevich to their roster.

The 34-year-old heads to the Elite League from Kazakhstan side Arlan Kokshetau, where he has played for the last two seasons.

He believes the move could turn into something quite memorable under new coach Dmitri Khristich.

“I’m happy that I’ve had the opportunity to sign with the Edinburgh Capitals and it’s a new challenge for me,” said Teslyukevich.

“I heard a lot about plans and high expectations for the upcoming season and I will try to give my best for the Capitals.

“I believe this will be a special season for Edinburgh fans.”

Teslyukevich is the fifth Russian on the Caps roster this season and his experience ranges from the VHL, Russia’s second tier, to Kazakhstan.

Khristich added: “Konstantin is an experienced all-round defenseman who has performed well in the VHL and Kazakhstan leagues.

“He has been one of the top players for plus/minus statistics in his last two seasons and will provide an offensive threat from the blueline.”
