Peterborough Phantoms have confirmed dual-national forward Martins Susters has signed a new deal with the club.
Susters already has over 60 EPL games under his belt and much is expected of the 17-year-old Latvian/British player.
Head Coach Slava Koulikov said: “I’m very pleased that Martins will be with us again next season.
“From day one you could see the hunger in a young boy, who had bags of potential and set big targets for himself.
“Last summer was a big step for Martins – he worked really hard and came in to the season in great shape.
“It was a transition season for him, from playing junior hockey into playing senior hockey, which is a massive learning curve.
“He did really well, got stronger, smarter and started to push my top nine forwards.
“This season Martins won’t be a young boy anymore – he will be a young man who will have more responsibility and a much bigger role.
“I believe with constant work that he does on and off the ice, he will be an important member of the squad.”
Susters added: “I’m really pleased to be representing Phantoms again this season. We did great last season, but with some new blood in the team I hope we can do even better.
“After speaking a lot with Slava I’m excited to be coached by him again next season, learning even more and taking on my new role within the team.”
