Glasgow Clan chairman Neil Black has announced that the club will undergo front office reforms after the signing of Lasse Uusivirta.

Malcolm Cameron has retained his position as head coach but will report to a newly appointed general manager.
Gareth Chalmers, who served as chief executive before he was suspended last week, was not mentioned by name in the press release, throwing his future with the organisation into doubt.

Glasgow’s reshuffle comes after they announced and quickly revoked the signing of 33-year-old defender Uusivirta, who self-deported from the United States after he was charged with first-degree rape in 2013.

In a statement on the club’s website, Black wrote: “I have now concluded my internal investigation into the events which led to the suspension of both Malcolm Cameron and Gareth Chalmers on Thursday 29 September.
“As a result of my findings, the Glasgow Clan are making the following changes to the management and reporting structure of the on-ice activities of the club.
“Malcolm Cameron will return to his role as head coach, reporting to a newly appointed Clan GM, whose role and appointment will replace that of the current Clan chief executive.
“We hope to confirm the Clan’s general manager appointment in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the head coach will report directly to the chairman.”
He added: “The club sincerely apologises to anyone upset by recent events.”
Glasgow will return to the ice on Saturday [8 October] for the visit of the Coventry Blaze. They are yet to secure their first points of the season, having started the campaign with a run of nine consecutive defeats in the Elite League and Challenge Cup.
