Great Britain Women U18 suffered late heartbreak as a goal 93 seconds from time gave Poland a 2-1 victory in Katowice.

GB outshot the host nation 22-19 in their third game at this season’s World Championship (Division 1B) tournament and were left to rue missed chances.

Casey Traill’s close-range rebound put Britain ahead in the second minute, but the hosts drew level through Sandra Klimecka halfway through the middle session.

Emily Harris went close for GB at the start of the third period, while Amy Trueman was denied on a breakaway.

Poland won it with a neat finish from the slot by Wiktoria Dziwok on the powerplay.

GB are back in action on Thursday when they face China (3.30pm UK time).
