Guildford Flames’ forward Ben Campbell has agreed his eighth season with the Elite League new-boys.

Campbell previously iced in the top flight for Newcastle Vipers, before going on to establish himself as one Flames’ top British players.

The 30-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign in the EPL last term, scoring 39 goals with 37 assists in 59 games.

Flames’ boss Paul Dixon said: “Ben certainly outdid himself in terms of putting up unprecedented personal numbers offensively.

“Of course, we don’t expect that kind of offensive showing in the Elite League, but Ben more than earned the opportunity to be with us for our opening season at the next level.

“He has terrific speed, and we are going to need that as a feature of our line-up in our efforts to stay with some very talented clubs from night-to-night.

“It is exciting times in terms of bringing in a lot of new faces, but it is fantastic news to return a long-standing club contributor to our new line-up.”

Campbell added: “I’m really happy to be back at the Flames for the forthcoming season and playing in front of great fans for another year.

“I’m excited to be here at the start of this new chapter in the Flames’ history and play in the top flight of British Ice Hockey again.”
