Solent Devils have confirmed Andrew Magee has returned for the remainder of the NIHL1 South season.

The Canadian forward rejoins the Devils after a brief spell with Oxford City Stars.

Magee iced for Solent in the 2014/2015 season, scoring 28 goals with 23 assists in 36 regular season matches. He also averaged over a point a game in the NIHL Cup and Play-offs.

He said: I’m very excited to be returning to the Devils. It was such a great year last year – it’s nice to know I’ll be going back to where I started.

“I’m extremely excited to see the boys and especially the fans. There’s just something about the fans down in Gosport that I haven’t found anywhere else.

“Just like last year I want to be an integral part of the team. From what I know, scoring has been an issue this year, so I’ll do my best to help with that.

“There’s still a lot of time left in the season for us to move up considerably in the standings, with all the games in hand.”

Player/Coach Alex Murray added: “We spoke a lot during the summer and it just wasn’t meant to be, but we’ve kept in touch and when I heard about Mags leaving Oxford, I again pursued him.

“Things have worked out and I’m delighted to be able to bring him to Solent. The team is in need of some more firepower and I will be looking for Magee to be a crucial part of that.

“We have a lot of injuries at the moment so we’re actively looking to add to the squad with British players also, but in the meantime Mags will bring a boost to the team.”
