Sheffield Steelers have announced that Marek Troncinsky will remain at the club until at least the end of the season.

The Czech defenceman joined the Steelers last month to help cover injuries in the squad, and has scored one goal and assisted eight more in 14 games for the club.

“Marek has come in and played a big role for us since his arrival,” said head coach Aaron Fox.

“I’m very happy to announce we will be able to keep him for the remainder of the season. His original deal had a get out for him to join other leagues in Europe, that expired this week and Marek confirmed to me that he wished to remain as this was the place he wanted to be

“I think that says a lot about the direction of our club. He has played a heavy game for us and skates so well for his size. He’s also played a big part in our PP improving. I’m very happy we were able to find a way to keep him here”
