Mighty Bouch keen to keep Stars standards up

Bouchard, British Ice Hockey

Dundee Stars hat-trick hero François Bouchard says it’s important to keep the standards his team have reached in recent games.

A 6-4 win over league leaders Belfast Giants on Wednesday extended their winning run to five, with Bouchard contributing with a hat-trick on a great night for the Stars.

And he said the 8-0 Challenge Cup drubbing at the hands of the Giants last week was a game they were keen to forget about as soon as they stepped off the ice.

“Confidence is really high with us right now and that’s when you need to focus in every game, no matter who we play,” he said.

“It’s important we keep it that way when we play Milton Keynes this weekend and we put in a good effort against Belfast, after how well we played at the weekend.

“But it’s a huge win.  Last time we played them, we didn’t do so well and we owed them one.  We showed a lot of character so when we play our system, we can show everyone in the league that we can be a good team.

“When we believe in ourselves, we can be a really good team and we need to keep thinking that way.

“Last Wednesday was a game we wanted to forget straight away so for this one, the guys showed up and that’s what everyone wants to see.

“It’s always good to score goals, but it was three good passes from my team-mates which made it easier that way.”
