Belfast Giants coach Adam Keefe revealed new signing Patryk Wronka has been on his radar since coming up against him last season.

The Polish international has become the first new arrival for the Elite League champions after impressing for GKS Katowice, who played against the Giants in the Continental Cup.

And Keefe reckons the fans will enjoy what the 23-year-old will bring to the team next season as he began his preparation for the new campaign.

“Patryk is someone who we tracked ever since we faced him in the Continental Cup Semi-Final back in November,” he said.

“He is young and competes hard every night. He is a great skater and very skilled – I know Giants fans are going to enjoy watching Patryk in action this season.”

Wronka went on to help Katowice take the bronze medal in the final of the Continental Cup in January and has scored two and three assists in Poland’s recent World Championship campaign.

He scored 38 goals and 98 assists in 104 games played as Katowice came third then second in the last two seasons and scored most assists and points for them.
