NIHL clarify position on Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes will be in the new NIHL National division, the EIHA have confirmed.

It has been a turbulent few weeks for ice hockey in MK, following its withdrawal from the Elite League.

A statement said: “After a series of discussions over the past 36 hours, the NIHL League Management Group can confirm that the Milton Keynes team in the new NIHL National division will be run by MKIHC Ltd.

“The group were awarded the ice time contract on Tuesday afternoon by Planet Ice and the LMG have talked with all existing National division clubs as well as PI and MKIHC since that announcement.

“Further details on the exact formats of all NIHL divisions will be confirmed following section meetings on June 8/9.”
