Deeside Dragons have boosted their defensive options with the signings of Ross Kennedy and Craig Lutkevitch.

Kennedy has progressed through the club’s junior system to establish himself as a key member of the senior roster, while Lutkevich joins the Dragons having won the D2 championship last season with Blackburn Eagles.

Player/Coach Scott McKenzie said: “Ross is a guy that wants to be better. He has been working hard during the off-season to make sure he is fitter, faster and stronger given the step up in standard next year.

“I will be pushing Ross to take on more of a leadership role next season given his ability and familiarity within Deeside. He’s a local lad that we are very lucky to have playing in Deeside.

“When I knew that Craig was interested in joining the Dragons I jumped at the chance to get him here. He is someone that personally I didn’t enjoy playing against, so it’s great to have him on our team this season.

“Craig is very keen to pull on a Dragons jersey and will be a great teammate. Sometimes bringing new players in can be a challenge, but I’m very confident that Craig will fit in with our group perfectly.”

Telford Tigers 1 have added netminder Denis Bell to their roster.

The 19-year-old returns to Telford after spells with Manchester Phoenix and Deeside Dragons.

Tigers’ boss Tom Watkins said: “I think he comes back to the Tigers with a point to prove. When he came here he was a very young goalie to be our number three, this time he is here as our starting goalie.

“There is perhaps more expectation than he has had previously, but I think that will bring out the best of him.

“He is a very confident young man, with the ability and potential to thrive here. He knows Telford and feels settled here.”

Billingham Stars have welcomed back a familiar face as imposing defenceman Dave Thomas makes a much-anticipated return to the blueline.

Thomas has played only a handful of games since 2013, but his career away from the ice has brought him back to Teesside on a permanent basis meaning he can commit himself fully to the Stars’ cause once more.

In D2, Altrincham Aces have completed the signing of former Blackburn Eagles forward Sam Dunford.
