Solway Sharks strengthened their grip at the top of the NIHL North Moralee D1 table after securing two narrow victories.

Stevie Moore (2) topped the scoring in their 5-3 home win against Whitley Warriors, while Daniel Abercrombie’s late goal sealed a 1-0 success at Sutton Sting.

Second-placed Billingham Stars are now ten points behind the Sharks after losing 4-1 at Whitley – Dean Holland (2) led the way for the home side.

Solihull Barons won 6-5 at Telford Tigers NIHL, but they couldn’t follow up in the reverse fixture as the division’s bottom club recorded a 6-2 road success.

Richard Bentham’s four-goal haul was the highlight of Blackburn Hawks’ 7-6 home win against Deeside, but the Dragons gained their revenge in the return game with a 5-3 victory.

Laidler D2 leaders Blackburn Eagles won 6-3 on home ice against Bradford Bulldogs – Chris Jones (2) was amongst their scorers.

Sheffield Senators triumphed 5-3 at home to Hull Jets, but they couldn’t make it a four point weekend after being held 1-1 at Nottingham Lions.

The Lions won 6-3 at Bradford Bulldogs, Widnes Wild eased to a 3-0 success at Coventry Blaze NIHL and Altrincham Aces secured a 6-2 home victory over Hull.
