
Whitley Warriors closed the gap on NIHL North Moralee D1 leaders Blackburn Hawks to three points after an 8-4 victory at home to Solihull Barons.
Jamie Tinsley (2) and DJ Good (2) topped the scoring for Warriors who were recording their ninth successive win.
Billingham Stars enjoyed a four-point weekend, winning 4-3 at Telford Tigers NIHL and 7-3 at home to Sheffield Spartans – Dennis Boström hit a hat-trick against the Yorkshire team.
Solway Sharks kept up their chase for a play-off spot with a 7-5 home success against the Barons – James Wallace (2) led their scoring.
In Laidler D2, Jake Larkin grabbed a hat-trick for Coventry Blaze in their 6-4 win at home to Altrincham, but the Aces bounced back on home ice with a 6-2 victory – Jake Nurse (above) scored three.
Deeside Dragons extended their unbeaten run to 21 games with an 8-3 success at Bradford Bulldogs.
Widnes Wild endured a miserable weekend in Blackburn – losing 8-5 in the league against the Eagles and 12-2 in their Northern Cup tie against the Hawks.
