Blackburn Hawks moved to within a point of NIHL North Moralee D1 leaders Whitley Warriors after picking up a pair of victories.

Jordan Bannon (2) and James Riddoch (2) led the scoring for Blackburn in their 8-1 win at Telford Tigers and Hawks sealed a perfect weekend after resisting a late Whitley fightback to record a 5-4 success on home ice.

Deeside Dragons maintained their lead at the top of Laidler D2 with a stylish 7-1 win at Nottingham Lions.

Adrian Palak (above) and Simon Furnival both scored twice, while Ross Kennedy, Filip Supa and Marc Lovell wighed in with one each to keep the North Wales outfit two points clear with a game in hand.

Widnes Wild stay second after coming from two down to win 5-2 at Altrincham Aces – Geoff Wigglesworth (2), David Swanston, Scott McKenzie and George Crawshaw were all on the scoresheet.

Hull Jets triumphed 7-5 at Bradford Bulldogs – Ben Spurgeon (4) topped their scoring.
