Solihull Barons had a mixed weekend as they looked to boost their NIHL North Moralee D1 play-off hopes.

Barons travelled to Sutton Sting on Saturday and quickly found themselves 3-0 down, but goals by Thomas Soar (2), Josh Bruce and Niklas Ottosson (above) secured a remarkable 4-3 victory.

Perry Doyle’s team found Billingham Stars in less charitable mood the following evening as the Teessiders eased to a 5-3 success.

Kim Miettinen (3), Adam Brittle (2) and Richard Bentham (2) topped the scoring for table-topping Blackburn Hawks in their 13-1 home win against Sutton.

Ollie Barron’s strike five minutes from time sealed a 3-3 draw for Sheffield Spartans at Telford Tigers NIHL.

Deeside Dragons picked up a pair of wins as they extended their lead at the top of Laidler D2 to eight points.

Filip Supa, Adrian Palak and Alex Parry all scored twice in Dragons’ 9-1 victory at home to Coventry Blaze, and Supa went one better at Altrincham Aces with a hat-trick in an 8-1 success.

Ondrej Pniok, Jamie Hovell and Slav Kasprzak were on target as Nottingham Lions won 3-2 on home ice against Widnes Wild.

Dean Boothroyd hit the winner for Bradford in their 4-3 victory at home to Blackburn Eagles, but Bulldogs couldn’t follow up at Hull Jets as they fell to a 3-2 defeat.
