NIHL South round-up: Bakrlik bounces back to the Bees

Czech forward Frantisek Bakrlik has signed for NIHL1 South outfit Bracknell Bees.

The 34-year-old played for the Bees during the 2015/16 season and has iced for numerous clubs during his time in the British game including MK Lightning and Manchester Phoenix.

Bees’ boss Scott Spearing said: “Contrary to popular belief Frankie and I get on very well! We have a mutual respect for each other and his edgy no nonsense style is exactly what I like.

“He is no doubt one of the most loved and hated players this country has seen and I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to have him back in a Bees shirt.”

Spearing has also signed forward Steven Osman from Invicta Dynamos.

Phil Hill and Olly Stone have agreed another year with Swindon Wildcats, while Aaron Connolly returns for a further season with Basingstoke Bison.

Brendan Baird has joined Streatham IHC from Oxford City Stars and James White is back for another season with Peterborough Phantoms.

London Raiders have added Jack Cooper and Callum Wells to their roster, while Great Britain U18 forward Rio Grinell-Park has joined MK Thunder. Netminder John Dibble has signed for Invicta.

In D2, Oxford have signed Alex Staples from Chelmsford Chieftains.

Ben Ealey-Newman is back for another year with Bracknell Hornets and Matt Jordan returns after a season with Oxford.
