NIHL South round-up: Boom Boom is back

Swindon Wildcats have confirmed forward Max Birbraer has agreed a second season with the club.

The 36-year-old joined Swindon last summer having previously iced for Cardiff Devils in the Elite League and the EPL’s Telford Tigers.

Birbraer scored 22 goals with 34 assists in 56 games for the club last season.

The Wildcats have also secured the services of netminder Renny Marr for the upcoming NIHL1 South campaign. Marr spent the last two years in the EIHL with Coventry Blaze.

London Raiders’ forwards JJ Pitchley and Sam Roberts are back for another year, while Chelmsford duo Matt Turner and Brandon Ayliffe have also signed for the club.

Former MK Lightning pair Michael Farn and Adam Carr have joined Streatham IHC. Chris Cooke and Jacob Ranson return for a further season and Ben Paynter has moved to the club from Oxford City Stars.

Tom Norton is back for another year with Peterborough Phantoms, while Glen Billing and Edward Knaggs have been added to the roster on two-deals with MK Lightning.

Basingstoke Bison forward Tomas Karpov has agreed his fifth year with the club. Ryan Sutton returns to Bison after a season in Canada, while ‘D’ man Elliott Dewey is back after three years with Invicta Dynamos.

Jamie Line, Ross Bowers and Tom Mboya return for another campaign with MK Thunder and Mason Webster has agreed a second year with Invicta.

D2S outfit Bracknell Hornets have added ex-Streatham goalie Will Sanderson to their roster. Defender Carl Graham has also signed for the club after a short spell with Chelmsford.
