Chelmsford Chieftains still lead NIHL1 South after picking up their 18th league win of the season – but they were made to fight all the way once again by Oxford City Stars.

Chieftains lost at Oxford earlier in the season, while Stars also picked up a point from a 3-3 draw at the Riverside earlier in January.

Two goals each for Matt Turner and Danny Hammond sealed a 4-3 victory for Chelmsford who now lead the table by five points from Invicta Dynamos.

The Kent club collected three points over the weekend, winning 3-0 at London Raiders before being held 4-4 at home to Wightlink – Alex Sampford’s second of the night five minutes from time secured a point for the Raiders.

Marek Nahlik scored twice for London in their 2-2 draw at Solent Devils.

Brandon Miles hit a hat-trick for Bracknell Hornets as they demolished Cardiff Devils NIHL 9-1, and the Welsh team completed a miserable weekend with a 4-2 defeat at MK Thunder.

In D2S, Chelmsford Warriors recovered from 4-1 down at home to Haringey Racers to record a 5-4 victory – Jake Sylvester grabbed the winner five minutes from time.

Nathan Pollard scored twice for Peterborough Islanders as they cruised to a 7-1 home success against Slough Jets, while Invicta Mustangs drew 3-3 with Lee Valley Lions.
