Uncertainty over next season’s structure has led to a slow start to the summer merry-go-round in NIHL1 South, but there has been some activity across the league.

Newcomers Swindon Wildcats have been the busiest club, with Player/Coach Aaron Nell, netminder Stevie Lyle (above) and forward Jan Kostal amongst the names signed to their roster so far.

Prolific forward Tomasz Malasinski won’t be back with the club after he confirmed he’s returning to Poland.

Fellow new boys Basingstoke Bison have also announced departures from the club with Rene Jarolin and Tomas Hiadlovsky leaving for pastures new, while Matt Towalski and Joe Rand have both retired.

Reigning champions Chelmsford Chieftains will have a new coach next season after Sean Easton took up an offer to join London Raiders.

Danny Hammond has retired, while Liam Chong is taking a year out of the game.

Bracknell Bees look set to undergo a major rebuilding job, with Player/Coach Lukas Smital departing the club.

Defenders David Gaborcik and Martin Pavlicek have taken up offers in France, while Josh Tetlow has joined Nottingham Panthers.

Jeremy Cornish has agreed another year with Streatham IHC, but he’ll need to replace Joe Johnston and Liam Rasmussen who have both retired.

Oxford City Stars’ forward Alan Green and MK Thunder defender Simon Howard have also hung up their skates.

Peterborough Phantoms have confirmed forward Petr Stepanek won’t return next season, but Ondrej Zosiak has agreed another year on the Invicta Dynamos’ blueline.
