Streatham IHC endured a miserable opening to their NIHL1 South season after falling to defeats in both the league and cup.

Callum Best scored Streatham’s only goal in a 2-1 cup defeat at home to Chelmsford Chieftains and they completed a disappointing weekend with an 8-5 reverse at Oxford City Stars.

The Chieftains followed up their success with a 4-3 home victory against Solent Devils in the league.

Invicta made it two wins out of two in the cup after securing a 4-2 win on home ice against London Raiders – Adam Rehak (2) topped their scoring.

In the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Cup, Bracknell Hornets drew 3-3 with the Stars.

Haringey Racers kicked off their D2S campaign with a 5-4 win at Lee Valley Lions – Matt Brown scored the winner with 21 seconds remaining.

Slough Jets fought out a 6-6 draw with Invicta Mustangs, while Wightlink Buccaneers and Swindon Wildcats NIHL also shared the spoils in a ten-goal thriller.

Peterborough Islanders won 5-0 at home to the Lions in the D2S Cup.
