Oxford City Stars came to close producing the shock of the NIHL1 South season on Sunday, eventually settling for a point at Chelmsford Chieftains.

Stars beat the runaway leaders on home ice earlier this term, and looked on course to repeat the feat as they raced into a 3-1 lead. Two Anthony Leone goals spared Chieftains’ blushes.

Second period goals by Jaroslav Cesky, Ryan Webb, Jeremy Cornish and Alex Sampford sealed the points for Wightlink Raiders as they ran out 4-2 winners at London Raiders.

A Chris Wiggins goal 43 seconds from time secured a 5-5 draw for Streatham Redskins at Bracknell Hornets.

Kamil Kinkor (above) hit a hat-trick for Streatham in their 6-5 D1S Cup success at home to Solent Devils. The victory saw Redskins qualify for the semi-final.

Josh Abbott (4) and Josh Ealey-Newman (4) led the scoring for Haringey Racers as they cruised to 13-3 win at home to Invicta Mustangs. Abbott added another couple in Racers’ 7-4 success at Lee Valley Lions.

Adrian Smith and Olly Shone both scored twice for Bristol Pitbulls as they triumphed 5-1 at home to Swindon Wildcats NIHL.

Peterborough Islanders are through to the semi-final of the D2S Cup after a 6-2 win on home ice against Basingstoke Buffalo.
