Ben O’Connor has agreed a new two-year contract with Sheffield Steelers.

The Great Britain defender joined the Steelers in 2014 and has since helped the club win two Elite League titles and one play-off crown.

O’Connor said: “I’m delighted to have re-signed – Sheffield’s my home and this is my club.

“Even though I had already signed this contract, the experience of the play-offs just brought it home to me how good it is here and how I want more of the same with the great group of teammates we have here.

“The Elite League is getting better and so are the Steelers on and off the ice. I’m thrilled I’ve been a part of our recent success and want to be a big part of the success we have moving forward.

“There is no better feeling than knowing we are settled here long term. This is the place to be, the place to play and I can’t wait to walk back into that dressing room once more in August.”
