Czech defenseman Jaroslav Sarsok has joined Hull Pirates.
The 25-year-old moves to the EPL after icing for KS Torun in Poland last season. Sarsok has also previously played in Slovakia, Romania and Sweden.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to playing for Hull Pirates next season. I’m a tall, strong player with a good shot and good passing.
“I also think I’ll be a good player for the powerplay. I can play as a forward, but I will be playing as a defenseman for Hull – I think this is the best position for me.
“I really hope we will win a lot of games next season and we will go into the play-offs as a strong team.
“I want to help as much as I can with my best performances for the Pirates and hopefully I will continue to improve.”
Player/Coach Dominic Osman added: “Jaroslav will bring lots of size on the ice – he’ll be a big presence and we believe that he will do the right things in defence.
“We’re building a team for the best. He will play a lot of ice back there and he will have a lot of reach, which is something that’s really big.
“He’ll also bring some offense and put up numbers. He’s got a heck of a shot on him and I believe that he is going to be an all-round player.”
