Hull Pirates have signed former MK Lightning netminder Jordan Marr.

The 24-year-old made 21 EPL appearances for Lightning after joining the club last summer, having previously played for Philadelphia Jackals in the IJHL and Finlandia University in the NCAA III.

Marr said: I’m very excited to have the opportunity to come and play for Hull this year. After hearing the club’s plans for the year I think we’re going to have a great season.

“I’m also looking forward to playing in front of the Hull fans. The last game of the regular season in Hull had a great atmosphere and it’ll be great playing in front of that every week.

“Having the chance to be a starting goalie was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

“I think after last year with MK I showed I could be a starter and help my team win every week, and I’m glad to be given the opportunity to do the same this year with the Pirates.

“I think every goalie wants to be the guy that leads the league in SV%, GAA, SO and wins, but I think that to do that you have to come to the rink every day, have a plan and work hard to get better and give your best effort.

“Being able to do that, set an example for the younger guys and be a good teammate is my aim every season.

“I’d like for us to compete in every game and continue to improve as the season goes on. If we can do that then we can move up in the league and challenge for trophies.”
