Hull Pirates have confirmed netminder Jordan Marr has signed a new deal keeping him at the club throughout the 2017/18 EPL season.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form since joining the Pirates from MK Lightning in the summer, posting a .919 save percentage and recording two shut-outs.

Head Coach Dominic Osman said: “To be able to bring Jordan back is something that is huge for us.

“With what Shane (Smith) has made available and put in place with Nathan Craze working with the goalies, combined with Marrsy working hard, means he’s getting better every day.

“It’s something that shows we are looking to the future and building for the future as well.

“This is about the time that we are going to sit and talk to guys about next year, it’s not going to be overnight and it is a process.

“You don’t know where the league is going to go in terms of import rules and other things, so to have a British goalie and to give a British goalie a chance is huge.

“We’ve put a lot of trust in him and he’s shown a lot of commitment back to us.”

The Pirates have also announced the signing of Bradley Betteridge from Telford Tigers NIHL, although the Shropshire-based outfit have claimed they are yet to agree the forward’s release.
