Hull Pirates have confirmed prolific forward Andrej Themar has agreed a new deal with the EPL club.

The Slovakian has been an instant hit since joining the Pirates in the summer, bagging 32 goals and 22 assists in 25 games.

Player/Coach Dominic Osman said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to sign Andrej for next season – it just goes to show where our programme is heading and the direction we’re going when players want to return.

“When we decided to sit down with Andrej we were able to come up with a quick agreement.

“We’re very happy with what he brings to the team on and off-the-ice. Anytime you can re-sign a player of his calibre is a great thing and we’re really excited to be bringing him back on board.”

Pirates’ owner Shane Smith added: “We’ve always said we’ve wanted to build for this year and for the future.

“Andrej’s proved he’s a good goalscorer in this league. Going forward you want to have that core group and he is one player that we want for the future.

“He has quickly become a fan favourite with some of the goals he has scored. We wanted to give fans what they wanted and we’re happy to be able to bring him back.

“We’re now looking at adding around him for next season.”
