Hull Pirates have signed defender Marcus Maynard following his release by Telford Tigers.
The 29-year-old previously played for Nottingham Panthers in the Elite League and he was also part of the Tigers EPL team that won the league and cup double in 2014/15.
Head Coach Dominic Osman said: “Bringing Marcus in gives us a different look. He’s a good, solid stay at home defenseman who is big, physical and good on the penalty kill. He’s going to bring that to our team which is good.
“We’ve lost (Ugnius) Cizas to injury and we’re going to need to make up for that in the next couple of weeks if he’s going to be out for that long.
“We’re not entirely sure and we’re going to look at that, but it was one of those things where as soon as Marcus became available I discussed it over the phone with Shane (Smith) and it was something that we came to a decision very quickly on.”
