Hull Pirates have confirmed the signing of Stanislav Lascek from Sheffield Steeldogs.

Drafted in the fifth round by Tampa Bay Lightning in 2005, Lascek has previously played in the AHL for Springfield Falcons and Norfolk Admirals, and in the ECHL for Johnstown Chiefs and Mississippi Sea Wolves.

The 30-year-old moved to the EPL in 2013 with MK Lightning, scoring 50 goals and 44 assists. Last season bagged 26 goals and 39 assists for the Steeldgos..

Lascek said: “It’s very exciting for me – I feel like a little kid again. I’ve been having a great time last season with the Steeldogs but it’s going to be even better in Hull.

“I’m a two-way player, I like to be perfect in defense but obviously I also like it when we score goals.

“I’m a playmaker, I like to make nice plays and passes. I also like physical play and obviously I love to score goals. I would like to say I am a universal player.

“I’ve played for two teams in the EPL. In my first year in Milton Keynes I was really impressed with the calibre of the league, and when I moved to Sheffield there was great team spirit and now I expect even better in Hull.

“Obviously, we have some targets to reach and I have already spoke to Dominic (Osman) and Shane (Smith) about this. I think the Pirates’ fans can be very excited about how good we are going to be next season.”
