Guildford Flames have signed Slovakian forward Michal Satek.

The 30-year-old joins the Surrey outfit after failing to agree revised terms with Telford Tigers following their recent financial troubles.

Satek spent last season with Manchester Phoenix, having previously spent the bulk of his career in his homeland.

Flames’ boss Paul Dixon said: “Michal is a skilled player and with a non-British trained roster spot open in our line-up, he’s a great fit for us at this time of the season.

“He remained in the country while Telford began their restructuring process, so travel is not an issue.

“Barring unforeseen issues he’ll be in the line-up on Saturday when Phoenix are in town.”
