Simon Suoranta joins Nottingham Panthers from Finnish Liiga

Nottingham Panthers have signed Finnish forward Simon Suoranta for the 21/22 Elite Ice Hockey season.

Nottingham Panthers have signed Finnish forward Simon Suoranta for the 21/22 Elite Ice Hockey season.

Suoranta, 29, has made 394 appearances in the Finnish Liiga, picking up 117 points in the process. It will be his first season outside of his native Finland.

During his time in the Liiga the 6’3” skater won the Finnish championship twice with Kärpät, and has represented Finland at under-16s, under-19s, under-20s and at the senior men’s level. He also has 23 games in the prestigious Champions Hockey League under his belt.

Simon Suoranta joins Ollie Betteridge, Jordan Kelsall, Kevin Domingue, Mathieu Tousignant, Christophe Boivin, Jeremy Welsh and Matt Lane among the Nottingham Panthers’ forward ranks for the 21/22 season.
