Paisley Pirates face one of their biggest challenges of the SNL season so far when they lock horns with Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday at Braehead Arena.

Both sides are coming off the back of big wins last weekend, Capitals beating bottom of the table Kimarnock Storm 17-0, while the Pirates triumphed 10-2 at North Ayrshire Wild to record their first victory away from home.

Paisley boss Ian Turley was delighted with his team’s performance: “We had nine different scorers in the match, but once again the defence did a great job in only conceding two against what had previously been a free-scoring side,” he said.

“Once we settled things down after they’d gone two ahead there was only ever going to be one winner, and that was us.

“I was actually expecting a bit more from the home side, but maybe any drop in their performance level was due to the fact that we were in control for most of the game.

“We’ve now got another tough fixture against Edinburgh, but we know we’re capable of beating anyone at Braehead.

“They’ve dropped a few points recently, so they’ll be coming looking to get their show back on the road.”
