Dundee Comets staged a thrilling comeback against Paisley Pirates to secure the SNL play-off title.

The Comets progressed to the final courtesy of a 4-1 victory over Aberdeen Lynx – John Dolan (2), Ross Johnston and Alan Hamilton got the goals.

Paisley required a penalty shoot-out to see off Kirkcaldy Kestrels in their semi-final – Marc Crute bagged the decider to seal a 3-2 success.

The league champions started the final on the front foot, with David Orr and Ross Jordan giving them a 2-0 lead by the 10-minute mark.

Hamilton pulled one back for the Comets, but Tom Johnston restored Paisley’s two-goal advantage to make it 3-1 at the first break.

Second period goals by John Gordon and Jamie Whitelaw brought the Comets level, and veteran forward Dolan made it 4-3 in the final session to end the Pirates’ hopes of the treble.

The two sides meet again in two weeks in the Scottish Cup Final at Kirkcaldy.
