Aberdeen Lynx became the first team to take a point off Paisley Pirates in the SNL this season after an entertaining 3-3 draw on home ice.

Stuart Miller’s powerplay goal gave the Pirates an early lead, but Iain Malcolm tied things up late in the first period.

Pirates were quick out of the blocks in the middle session and regained the lead after just 90 seconds through Fraser Campbell.

Jordan Leyden made it 2-2 midway through the game and Lynx eventually edged in front after 47 minutes courtesy of Ross McIntosh.

Pirates’ boss Ian Turley quickly called a time-out and his words of wisdom seemed to have the desired effect, as Chris Wilson fired home in the 53rd minute to make it 3-3.

Both teams had chances to secure victory in the latter stages of the game, but neither could find a way through and the points were shared.

The result leaves the Pirates four points clear of Lynx at the top of the table.

Dundee Comets are up to third after a 5-1 success at Kilmarnock Storm, while Moray Typhoons raced to an impressive 11-1 home win against Edinburgh Capitals SNL.
