Paisley Pirates edged closer to the SNL title after recording a comfortable victory at Kilmarnock Storm.

First period goals by Martyn Guy, Fraser Campbell and Ross Jordan set the Pirates on their way and they quickly doubled that lead through Chris Wilson and Stuart Miller (2) early in the second session.

Storm pulled a couple back through Scott Cowan and Marcus Murdoch, before Miller completed his hat-trick to put the Pirates 7-2 ahead at the next break.

Tom Johnston added an eighth in the final period, but Storm refused to lie down and reduced the deficit to four courtesy of Cowan and Graeme Lester.

Johnston, Campbell and Marc Crute bagged further goals for the visitors to secure a deserved 11-4 success.

Aberdeen Lynx remain second in the table after a 3-1 home win against Dundee Tigers. Lynx are two points behind the Pirates with a game in hand.

Dundee Comets are still third after a 6-4 home victory over Edinburgh Capitals SNL, while fourth-placed Kirkcaldy Kestrels triumphed 5-1 at North Ayrshire Wild.

That result completed a miserable weekend for Wild who also lost 2-1 at home to Moray Typhoons.
